This screw mechanism was created in a special machine tool factory as a result of the design for milling headstocks used in special machine tools – milling machines.

This device is difficult to build because the frame structure is complicated. It has many parts with difficult access for the welder and many sliding connections.

The main task of machine bodies, frames or bases is to hold other parts and assemblies in defined mutual positions and also to take over loads: forces and moments.

The screw-nut translation mechanism is one of the oldest and most popular mechanisms in engineering. An example of its application is lifting screw of a welding positioner.
